At 2019 Piranja, 43 Windsurfers competing in different categories took part at the long distance Piranja All you can Ride and 37 Stand-up paddlers competing for Slovenia cup. Among the sailors the best was Matjaž Puh, while Tomaž Jensterle won the SUP race. Kids were paddling a shorter course while youth windsurfers were mostly on Techno 293 class.
Due to very unstable weather and two storms, the competition was postponed twice, but we still managed to get the race completed.
In the Windsurfing D2 (Division) category, there were 16 competitors in the A and C divisions, and the race counts for D2 class world rankings (ID2CA- IWA International Windsurfing Association member). The competitors mostly came from Slovenia, Italy, Greece and Croatia. On Sunday, due to strong south wind, blowing at speeds of up to 25 knots, we had to cancel additional D2 class races. The class prescribes an upper wind limit of 20 knots
We thanks all the competitors for their participation, some coming from far, Thessaloniki and Ancona.
A special thanks goes to all sponsors and everybody who helped to run this event!
